Cheryl, a dental hygienist by day and an awe-inspiring quilter in the quilting industry, is often referred to as the “Hexpert” for her creative and prolific use of hexies. She began quilting in the early 90s and won the AQS Hand Workmanship Award at Paducah QuiltWeek with her quilt STAR STRUCK. That quilt now resides at The National Quilt Museum as part of their collection. Cheryl has won numerous quilting awards and has been a featured artist at the Virginia Quilt Museum. Another award-winning quilt FALL INTO SPRING is now available as a pattern from AQS. Cheryl has also authored two self-published books, Star Struck & Starlette and Not Just Hexies.

Really enjoyed this class and can’t wait to start making a Hexie Daisy wall hanging. I’d love to try the black and white one. I learned so much more than just English Paper Piecing like making your own bias tape and making your binding out of two colors (genius!). Cheryl makes all her techniques look so easy and a beginner can easily complete this project. Her work is beautiful and inspiring. I can’t wait to start my own!!

Cheryl provided easy, descriptive, and detailed instructions from start to finish. From the beginning, how to choose fabric, to coordinating colors, to lay out, to different ways to finish, this class included it all. The “tips” that flashed up during the lesson, reinforced this item of instruction was important, and should be remembered. I would recommend anyone who wants to learn how to make perfect hexagons, and incorporate them into a lovely runner or wall hanging, to take this class. I am glad I did!

I just finished the Hexie Daises Tutorial by Cheryl See. I like water color quilts and liked the colors of this quilt. I have done some English paper piecing in the past but not to this extent. The tutorial was very helpful in deciding what colors and how to get that water color effect. Working a full time job and keeping it all together so that I can make progress make the use of clover clips and quilt scroll a absolute must have to do it. I will need to watch the video a few more times to be able to finish the project or at least one block of the project. Cheryl was very informative and gave great tips.
