Cutting Instructions
From the dark purple, cut:
(2) 2” x 2” squares
From the purple fabric, cut:
(4) 2” x 2” squares
From the light purple fabric, cut:
(1) 2 ½” x 2 ½” square
From the dark yellow fabric, cut:
(6) 2” x 2” squares
From the yellow fabric, cut:
(4) 1 ½” x 2 ½” rectangles
From the light yellow fabric, cut:
(1) 3 ½” x 3 ½” square
From the background fabric, cut:
(4) 1 ½” x 1 ½” squares
(4) 2” x 2” squares
Assembly
Half Square Triangles
Mark the wrong side of the purple 2” squares in half diagonally once. Lay a marked purple square over a dark yellow 2” square, right sides together. Sew a quarter inch from each side of the marked line. Cut apart on the marked line.
Trim unit to 1 1/2” square. Make 8.

Repeat with the dark yellow and dark purple squares.
Trim unit to 1 1/2” square. Make 4.
Flying Geese
Mark four background 2″ squares in half diagonally once. Lay two background marked squares over a light yellow 3 1/2″ square in diagonally opposite corners. Sew a quarter inch from the marked line on both sides. Cut apart and press.
Lay a background square over the corner of the light yellow triangle. Sew a quarter inch from the marked line on both sides. Cut apart and press. Repeat with the other light yellow triangle.
Trim Flying Geese to 2 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ rectangle. Make 4.

Block Assembly
Use the block diagram above to layout the block into three rows. Sew the units into rows.
Sew the rows together to complete the block.
Block measures 6 ½” x 6 ½” unfinished.
