Fabric Requirements

Scraps or 1/8th yard of:
Gray Purple
Light Purple
Medium Purple
Dark Purple
Gold
Light Blue
Pink
Dark Blue – 1/4 yard
Medium Blue – 1/4 yard
Binding – 1/8 yard
Backing – Fat Quarter

 

Cutting Instructions

From the Gray Purple fabric, cut:
(1) 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ square
(4) 2″ x 2″ squares

From the Light Purple fabric, cut:
(12) 2″ x 2″ squares
(4) 1 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ squares

From the Medium Purple fabric, cut:
(4) 2″ x 2″ squares
(4) 1 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ squares

From the Dark Purple fabric, cut:
(8) 2″ x 2″ squares

From the Gold fabric, cut:
(8) 2″ x 2″ squares
(4) 1 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ rectangles

From the Dark Blue fabric, cut:
(20) 2″ x 2″ squares
(12) 1 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ squares

From the Medium Blue fabric, cut:
(20) 2″ x 2″ squares
(8) 1 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ squares

From the Light Blue fabric, cut:
(4) 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ squares
(8) 1 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ squares

From the Pink fabric, cut:
(4) 2″ x 2″ squares

For the binding, cut:
(2) 1 1/4″ x Width of Fabric strips

Instruction

Using the 2″ squares, make the following Half Square Triangles (HST):

  • 32 Dark Blue/Medium Blue HST
  • 8 Medium Blue/Pink HST
  • 8 Gold/Dark Blue HST
  • 8 Gold/Dark Purple HST
  • 8 Light Purple/Dark Purple HST
  • 8 Light Purple/Medium Purple HST
  • 8 Light Purple/Gray Purple HST

Draw a line on the backside of a square diagonally. Lay right sides together with the other square. Sew a 1/4″ from each side of the drawn line. Cut apart on the line. Press and trim to 1 1/2″.

Quilt Assembly

Using the Half Square Triangles, rectangles, and squares sew the rows together.
Once the rows are complete, sew the quilt together.

Layer, quilt as desired, and bind using single fold method.
