Free Pattern: Autumn Medley Quilt

AUTUMN MEDLEY QUILT

Fabric Requirements:

Yellow Fabric – 1 yard

Middle Ray Fabric – 1 yard

Outer Ray Fabric – 1 yard

Inner Square Fabric – 1/3 yard

Middle Square Fabric – 1/3 yard

Outer Square Fabric – 1/3 yard

Background Fabric – 2 1/3 yards

Binding – 1/3 yard

Note: For the sample we used scraps. At times we pieced together smaller pieces to equal the size needed.

 

Cutting Instructions:

From the yellow fabric, cut:

(1) 20 1/2″ x 20 1/2″ square

(4) 11″ x 11″ square for half square triangles

 

From the middle ray fabric, cut:

(8)  11″ x 11″ square for half square triangles

 

From the outer ray fabric, cut:

(8)  11″ x 11″ square for half square triangles

 

From the inner square fabric, cut:

(4) 10 1/2″ x 10 1/2″ squares

 

From the middle square fabric, cut:

(4) 10 1/2″ x 10 1/2″ squares

 

From the outer square fabric, cut:

(4) 10 1/2″ x 10 1/2″ squares

 

From the background fabric, cut:

(8) 10 1/2″ x 10 1/2″ squares

(8) 20 1/2″ x 10 1/2″ rectangles

(4) 11″ x 11″ square for half square triangles

 

Assembly:

Draw a diagonal line from corner to corner on the backside of one of the half square triangle 11″ block sets.

For each set, lay the marked 11″ square on the unmarked 11″ square, right sides together.

Sew a 1/4″ seam on each side of the diagonal line.

Cut the one the diagonal line.

Press the half square triangles and trim evenly to 10 1/2″.

Using the diagram above, layout the half square triangles and other pieces.

Sew the blocks into sections and the sections into a quilt!

Quilt as desired and bind.
