The day has come. We’re starting the Amelia’s Star Quilt Along, the June quilt for Quilt Along 2020. This week is for the Amelia’s Star quilt we’re pulling our fabric and cutting out our pieces!
For 2020, we’ve collected 12 of our most popular quilt patterns. We’ll make a quilt a month and cover the creative process from selecting colors and fabrics, piecing and assembly tips, and quilting ideas to help you finish your quilt. Click Here to check out the quilts so you can pick which ones you want to make in 2020! June’s quilt is Amelia’s Star.

Amelia’s Star Fabric Pull Ideas

Amelia’s Star has some wide open spaces and big patches. It makes it great for showing off prints or using solids for some chic minimalism.
Choose some fun, vintage-inspired colors for a dose of nostalgia.
The large square in the center of the quilt is a perfect place for a big print or even a square panel.
A botanical take is always a beautiful way to color a quilt.
Reversing the background (dark instead of light) is a dramatic design trick, but you can still create a soft effect by using pastels. The gray of the blue background softens the impact of the background.
Warm and cool colors can create a lot of contrast with one another. In this quilt, every fabric is in the same aqua family in different values (light to dark), except for the focal star which is in a warm orange to make the star pop.
