 L Block

Cutting Instructions:

From the letter fabric, cut:
A — (1) 2″ x 6 1/2″
B — (1) 2″ x 8″
C — (2) 2″ x 2″
D — (1) 1 1/2″ x 1 1/2″

From the background fabric, cut:
E — (1) 5″ x 8″

Assembly:[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”58935″ img_size=”medium” onclick=”img_link_large” img_link_target=”_blank”][vc_column_text]Mark the wrong sides of C and D in half diagonally once. Lay D right sides together with E on the bottom left corner and sew on the marked line. Sew C on the same way in the top left and bottom right corners. Trim the seam allowance and press towards the letter fabric.

Sew B to the left side of the previous unit, press towards B. Sew A to the bottom of the block, press towards A.  O Block

Cutting Instructions:

From the letter fabric, cut:
B — (4) 2″ X 6 1/2″
C — (6) 1 1/2″ X 1 1/2″
F — (1) 1 1/2″ X 2 1/2″

From the background fabric, cut:
A — (4) 2″ X 2″
D — (4) 1 1/2″ X 3 1/2″
E — (2) 1″ X 2 1/2″
G — (2) 1 1/2″ X 1 1/2″
H — (4) 1″ X 1″

Assembly:[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”58940″ img_size=”medium” onclick=”img_link_large” img_link_target=”_blank”][vc_column_text]Mark the wrong sides of H in half diagonally once. Lay one over the upper left corner of a C square as shown. Sew on the marked line, trim seam allowance, and press towards C. Repeat on the other corner. Make 2. Sew units together as shown to make the top of the heart.

Mark the wrong sides of G in half diagonally once. Lay one over the left side of F, right sides together. Sew on the marked line, trim seam allowance and press towards F. Repeat on the other end to make a Flying Geese unit for the bottom of the heart. Sew the top and bottom of the heart together.

Sew an E to the left and right side of the heart, press towards the heart. Sew previous unit to the top and bottom of the heart unit, press towards the heart.

Cutting Instructions:

From the letter fabric, cut:
B — (2) 2″ x 6 1/2″
D — (1) 4″ x 4″

From the background fabric, cut:
A — (1) 3 1/2″ x 6 1/2″
C — (1) 4″ x 4″
E — (2) 2″ x 2″

Assembly:[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”58942″ img_size=”medium” onclick=”img_link_large” img_link_target=”_blank”][vc_column_text]Mark the wrong sides of C and D in half diagonally once. Lay C and D right sides together and sew a quarter inch from each side of the marked line. Cut apart on the marked line and press towards D. Trim both Half Square Triangles to 3 1/2″ square.

Mark the wrong sides of E in half diagonally once. Orient one of the Half Square Triangles with the C in the bottom left corner. Lay an E square over the upper right corner of D and sew on the marked line. Trim seam allowance and press towards D. Orient the other Half Square Triangle with the C in the bottom right corner and repeat. Sew units together to make the bottom point of the V block.

Sew a B to the left and right sides of A, press away from A. Sew the top and bottom of the block together. V Block measures 6 1/2″ x 9 1/2″ unfinished.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][ultimate_spacer height=”15″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

E Block

E — (2) 1 1/2″ x 1 1/2″
F — (1) 1 1/2″ x 2 1/2″

From the background fabric, cut:
B — (1) 4″ x 6 1/2″
D — (2) 1 1/2″ x 2 1/2″
G — (2) 1 1/2″ x 1 1/2″

Assembly:[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”58934″ img_size=”medium” onclick=”img_link_large” img_link_target=”_blank”][vc_column_text]Mark the wrong sides of G in half diagonally once. Lay one over the left side of F, right sides together. Sew on the marked line, trim seam allowance and press towards F. Repeat on the other corner to make a Flying Geese unit.

Mark the wrong sides of E in half diagonally once. Lay over the left end of D, with the marked line starting in the upper left corner. Sew on the marked line, trim seam allowance and press towards E. Repeat with the other E and D, but lay E so the marked line starts in the bottom left corner. Sew these two flip units to the Flying Geese unit as shown.

Mark the wrong sides of C in half diagonally once. Lay C right sides together with B on the top right corner and sew on the marked line. Repeat on the bottom right corner. Trim the seam allowances and press away from B. Sew to the left side of the previous unit as shown, press towards B. Sew A to the right side of the block, press towards A.

Love Pillow

Cutting Instructions:

From the background fabric, cut:
(2) 3 3/4″ x Width of Fabric
(2) 2 1/4″ x 9 1/2″
(3) 1 1/2″ x 9 1/2″

From the backing fabric, cut:
(1) 16″ x 31″[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”58943″ img_size=”medium” onclick=”img_link_large” img_link_target=”_blank”][vc_column_text]Assembly:
Sew a 1 1/2″ x 9 1/2″ rectangle between the letter blocks, press towards the letter blocks.

Sew a 2 1/4″ x 9 1/2″ rectangle to the left side of the L block and the other 2 1/2″ x 9 1/2″ rectangle to the right side of the E block, press towards the letter blocks.

Measure your Love Pillow top in three places and trim the 3 3/4″ strips to the average size for the borders. Sew the borders to the top and bottom of the pillow top. Love Pillow measures 16″ x 31″ unfinished.

Optional: Quilt the Love Pillow top as desired.

Lay the Love Pillow top and the backing 16″ x 31″ rectangle right sides together. Sew a half inch around the outer edges, leaving a 3-4” opening in the bottom.

Turn right sides out and stuff Love Pillow. Ladder stitch the opening in the bottom closed.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
