Cutting Instructions:
From the dark sky fabric, cut:
(8) 2″ x 2″ squares
From the coral fabric, cut:
(4) 1″ x 3 1/2″ rectangles
(1) 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ square
(8) 1″ x 2″ rectangles
(4) 1″ x 1″ squares
From the dark turquoise fabric, cut:
(4) 2″ x 3 1/2″ rectangles
(4) 1″ x 3 1/2″ rectangles
From the gold fabric, cut:
(4) 1″ x 3 1/2″ rectangles
(32) 1″ x 1″ squares
(10) 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ squares
From the light yellow fabric, cut:
(4) 2″ x 3 1/2″ rectangles
(16) 1″ x 2″ rectangles
(32) 1″ x 1″ squares
(10) 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ squares
Instructions:Â
To make the Nine Patch units, sew the light yellow, gold, and coral 1″ squares using the color diagram above. Make 8. Unit measures 2″ square.
To make the Small Rail units, sew two light yellow 1″ x 2″ rectangles on each side of a coral 1″ x 2″ rectangle. Make 8. Unit measures 2″ square.
To make the Half Square Triangle units, sew a light yellow and gold 2 1/2″ square together by marking a diagonal line on the back and sewing a 1/4″ on both sides of the line. Cut apart on the line and press. Trim to 2″ square. Make 20.
Sew the Nine Patch units, Small Rail Units, and Half Square Triangle units together using the assembly diagram below as a guide to make the corner units.
To make the Flying Geese units, mark a diagonal line on the backs of the 2″ dark sky squares. Lay in the corner of the 2″ x 3 1/2″ dark turquoise triangles. Sew on the line, trim, and press. Make 4. Unit measures 2″ x 3 1/2″.
To make the Large Rail units, sew the gold, coral and dark turquoise 1″ x 3 1/2″ rectangles together using the color diagram above as a guide.
Block Assembly:
Using the diagram below as a guide, to assemble the block.
Block measures 12 1/2″ unfinished.
