It turns out that mother really did know best when Cindy’s mom signed her up for a quilting class at the local community college in 1992. Known best for her machine quilting, Cindy likes to take traditional patterns and enhance them, creating a style all her own. Cindy has an impressive list of awards to her credit, including winning Best of Show with her quilt, SIMPLY SANTA FE, at the 2011 AQS QuiltWeek in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Cindy is an instructor with the AQS School of Quiltmaking. A fun fact is that Cindy has a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental and Systematic Biology with a concentration in Fisheries Biology. For over 20 years, she and her husband owned their own aquaculture facility, raising catfish for sale to grocers and restaurants. When they can get away, Cindy and her husband, Rich, along with daughter Caitlyn and son Cameron, like to spend time in the mountains and deserts of the western United States.

Great course. Love the stocking idea. Just a lot of small areas to tackle with new free motion stitches. This course really freed me up for free motion. I now believe I can do it! Thanks, Cindy. Great job.

Cindy’s step by step instructions were great. I especially liked how she showed us how to draw the stitches before actually stitching them. That helped me set the stitch in my mind and made it easier to reproduce on the fabric. The different fillers adds to my bag of filler styles. I also really appreciated her demonstration of binding for curved seams. I have had trouble with that in the past and her technique really helped reduce the bulk. Thanks Cindy for the informative and clear demo.

A must for machine quilters. This gives you all the skills to successfully fill in backgrounds and is extremely easy to follow step by step. Cindy takes all the stress out of doing beautiful and creative background stitching with a minimum of marking. The little tips she gives throughout the class make it approachable for even the most beginning quilters. I have relied heavily on stencils for filling in spaces, but now I feel that I can have a much more creative approach. Thank you, Cindy for a wonderful and informative class.

Excellent class for someone who wants to begin learning or trying fun filler stitches and end up with a finished project.
Cindy breaks down the steps for creating the pebbles, tear drops/paisley, swirls, rainbows, string of pearls, hearts, seaweed and waves of feathers in basic steps, which made it easy to follow along.
There are a few tips in the video that were not new to me, but would be very helpful to someone trying a project with machine quilting for the first time.
Super class for expanding the skills of someone who has a working knowledge of their machine and wants to add pizzaz or learn more about quilting with their home machine.
