Sizing Frame
Each block features a frame that you can use for sizing. This is great for smoothing out size discrepancies that can happen in sewing sampler blocks. We’ve made a video demonstrating how to size blocks using a frame.

Note: The letters beside the colors are used in the patterns for placement guides.
Black (B) – 10 1/8 yards
Dark Purple (DP) – 2/3 yard
Purple (P) – 1/2 yard
Light Purple (LPU) – 1/2 yard
Dark Turquoise (DT) – ½ yard
Coral (C) – ½ yard
Dark Sky (DS) – 1/2 yard
Orange (O) – 3/8 yard
Light Orange (LOR) – 3/8 yard
Light Gold (LG) – ¼ yard
Green (GR) – ¼ yard

Sashing Instructions
From the black fabric, cut:
(84) 1 1/2″ x 15 1/2″ strips
(54) 2 1/2″ x 2″ rectangles (used for paper piecing, cut to your preference.)
(8) 1 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ rectangles
(24) 2 1/2″ x 11 1/2″ strips
(2)Â 1 1/2″ x 101 1/2″ strips
(2) 1 1/2″ x 103 1/2″ strips
From the dark fuchsia fabric, cut:
(19) 1 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ squares
From the dark aqua Fabric, cut:
(8) 1 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ squares
From the coral fabric, cut:
(10) 1 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ squares
From the light orange fabric, cut:
(12) 1 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ squares
From the dark purple fabric, cut:
(32) 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ squares (used for paper piecing, cut to your preference.)
From the dark sky fabric, cut:
(8) 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ squares (used for paper piecing, cut to your preference.)
From the dark turquoise fabric, cut:
(8) 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ squares (used for paper piecing, cut to your preference.)
From the dark aqua fabric, cut:
(6) 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ squares (used for paper piecing, cut to your preference.)
Sashing Rows
Sew a black 1 1/2″ x 15 1/2″ sashing strip between each block in each row.
Sew each of the following rows with the black 1 1/2″ x 15 1/2″ sashing strip and the colored 1 1/2″ squares.
Row 1 & Row 5: strip – dark fuchsia – strip – dark aqua – strip – coral – strip – light orange – strip – dark fuchsia – strip
Make 2.
Row 2 & Row 4: strip – dark aqua – strip – coral – strip – light orange – strip – dark fuchsia – strip – light orange – strip
Make 2.
Row 3: strip –Â coral – strip – light orange – strip – dark fuchsia – strip – light orange – strip – coral – strip
Sew each of the rows together with the sashing strip between.
Side Border Rows: strip – light orange – strip – coral – strip – dark aqua – strip – dark fuchsia –Â strip – dark fuchsia –Â strip
Make 2.
Sew the side rows to the sides of the quilt using the color quilt image below as a guide.
Top/Bottom Border Rows: dark fuchsia – strip – dark fuchsia – strip – dark fuchsia – strip – dark aqua – strip – coral – strip – light orange – strip – dark fuchsia
Make 2.
Sew the top and bottom rows to the top and bottom of the quilt using the color quilt image below as a guide.
Star Point Corners
Download and print the corner unit paper piecing patterns.
Using the 2 1/2″ x 2″ black rectangles and 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ colored rectangles set aside for paper piecing, make corner units.

Border Rows
Sew each of the following rows with the black 2 1/2″ x 11 1/2″ sashing strip, the colored Star Point Corners, and the black 1 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ spacers.
Side Rows: dark aqua – strip – dark turquoise – spacer – dark turquoise – strip – dark sky – spacer – dark sky – strip – dark purple – spacer – dark purple – strip –Â dark purple – spacer – dark purple – strip –Â dark purple – spacer – dark purple – strip – dark purple. Make 2.
Sew to the sides of the quilt.
Top and Bottom Rows:Â dark purple – spacer – dark purple – strip –Â dark purple – spacer – dark purple – strip –Â dark purple – spacer – dark purple – strip – dark purple –Â spacer – dark purple – strip – dark sky – spacer – dark sky – strip – dark turquoise – spacer – dark turquoise – strip – dark aqua – spacer – dark aqua. Make 2.
Sew to the top and the bottom of the quilt.
Final Borders
Sew the black 1 1/2″ x 101 1/2″ strips to the sides of the quilt. Sew the black 1 1/2″ x 103 1/2″ strips to the top and bottom of the quilt.
Binding Strips
For the binding, cut 11 strips 2 1/2″ x wof. Sew the strips together with bias seams.
