Cutting Instructions:
From the white fabric, cut:
(4) 1 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ rectangles
(12) 1 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ squares
(10) 2″ x 2″ squares
From the dark blue fabric, cut:
(4) 1 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ squares
(4) 2″ x 2″ rectangles
From the light blue fabric, cut:
(4) 1 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ squares
(4) 1 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ rectangles
(2) 2″ x 2″ squares
(1) 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ square
From the dark purple fabric, cut:
(4) 2″ x 2″ squares
Instructions:
Half Square Triangles
Mark the back of the 2″ white squares diagonally from corner to corner. Use this as a guide to make half square triangles. Layer with each 2″ colored square and sew 1/4″ from the drawn line. Cut on the drawn line to make two half square triangles.
Size the half square triangles to 2 1/2″ each.
Make the following half square triangles:
(8) Dark purple and white
(8) Dark blue and white
(4) Light blue and white
Remember each set of squares makes 2 half square triangles.
Square in a Square
Mark the back of the 1 1/2″ white squares diagonally from corner to corner. Lay the 1 1/2″ white square in the corner of the 2 1/2″ light blue square. Sew on the drawn line. Cut 1/4″ on the outside of the drawn line. Press. Repeat for the other three corners.
